Cirilla by seancruz Cirilla by seancruz
Cirilla

I decided to push myself and try making suns; after making who knows how many, I made one I was satisfied with. Then I decided to make a close Jupiter-like giant with many details as well. Overall, I am very satisfied with this.
_____________________________________
In human-known space, lies the Jovian(Jovians meaning gas giants) Empire which have colonized many gas giant moons and few terrestrial worlds. Apart from the Jovians, is the Republic of Terrestrial Colonies(or the Terran Republic). The Terrans colonized many super-earths and moons, and a few gas giant moons. For almost 3 centuries, they have been waging war.

About 2 centuries ago, a mass of traders, scientists, smugglers, and spacemen have broken away from the Terran and Jovian sectors and fled to uncharted star systems. For decades, scientists were free to experiment and advance their own technologies since they were not restricted by morals and ethics. At this time, the limit of human technology is unknown.

Almost 2 centuries later, the traders, scientists, smugglers, and spacemen, dubbed as Renegades by the Jovians have colonized and created markets throughout countless remote locations and worlds, one of them is the Cirilla Star System.

Cirilla is a binary star system. It hosts 3 planets, 2 are jovian and the last is a large ice dwarf. The second giant is Cirilla-2 which has 21 moons. The Jovian Empire decided to capture one of the Renegade worlds on behalf of a tip that Renegade scientists possess technologies unknown to them. They began a stealth operation and were able to follow a smuggler to the moon Kodias. Fortunately, the Renegades, with their superior technology detected in advance the stealthy Jovian cruisers and fighters.

I beautiful piece. I like how you have caught the subtlety of a far off nebula, almost drowned out by the star light.

I'd really like to know how you created that star. Beautiful picture. The size of the ships is excellent for setting the scale of the piece.

Ironically, as awesome as everything here is its the little ships that pull it all together for me and really make this awesome.

Perfect sun texture and gas giant fantabulous and the idea of a binary star solar system is great too!!! The image is so smooth it flows!!!

love it man. suns look great, much more realistic than some of the others ive seen recently (which fits realy well in this piece) My only problem with them are that they look flat, but i know thats the hardest part fo making suns, and i have no idea how to make it look better :P
The gas giant, as usual, near flawless.
i also like how subtle the neb is, you didnt over due it, and it doesnt pull attention away from the suns or planet.

But the ships and small moon i dont like. i love the concept, but ive seen better quality out of you. I would make the colonized moon bigger so you can see more detail, make it a bigger part of the image. and the ships, smae idea. maybe a little more fine tuning. Your concept is great and i hate to see it dimmed down by making it too small.

All in all, wonderful work as usual. :D

Thanks alot man! I pushed myself hard here and I'm really satisfied with the outcome.

Under normal circumstances I would make the ships larger and the moon much more up close, but I wanted to keep certain elements. The fleet chasing the rogue ship that's traveling to the moon needs distance and space; I decided to show that distance and space by making it all small. Space is vast and sometimes things should be small to show how gigantic a giant is or how endless space can feel.

In the end, the focus is not the ships or the moon, but the gas giant and the binary stars. In a way it's symbolic of how small we are compared to space and matter. I wanted to show how majestic and powerful the stars and the giant are. The ships and moons are just minimal, almost worthless in comparison.

i can see where you are coming from, and i guess IMO you went a little too far. but it works. actually looking at it again i focus a lot less of the ships and moon and much more on the size and depth. something i would try is put the moon infrom of the gas giant. now that im looking at it alittle bit differently, i think a point of reference would help with size. liek if you put it ontop of the gas giant, you know it has to be small because its closer to you than the GG, but where it is now, i think my eye just assumes its a lot further away from the gas giant.
idk, like i said i love the piece. really great work.

Thanks alot man I love the critique it truly helps I get what you mean by the moon appearing to be further away. I'm gonna move it soon I'm so busy again with traveling and packing ughh but when I get the chance next week i'm definately moving the moon on top of the giant. Thanks for the tip xD

Sounds like you have a very deep story going on here :library: and a nice illustartion to match (now what fun is a book without pictures? :giggle:) the Sun's look pretty good, they look as if they'd be much dimmer than ours though 8-) the gas giant came out nicely too :D

Thank you! Yea, I have this huge imagination and concept of the future in my head which I plan to write out one day after much careful planning and time. In the meantime I like to illustrate the worlds and strange places they live in xD
