Dioma's Flight by seancruz Dioma's Flight by seancruz
-Dioma's Flight-

Yay, my best piece so far imo. Gas Giants always give me the impression of authority and power.

I must thank :iconbaro: for his Stagelight Tut and his Craters Tut.

Dioma is a moderately sized gas giant composed mostly of hydrogen and helium with traces of other elements. Dioma has two large anticyclonic storms which shift constantly and sometimes intermingle and separate. The giant posesses an extremely thin ring.

Could you possibly make this into a desktop background of sized 1600x1050? I'd like die and go to heaven if you did.

Alright man sweet. I understand. I'm a space artist myself, it takes a lot of time. Though my space art turns into surreal paintings, we are really similar. I'm on SolarVoyager with username Raawz. I think I've seen you there.

Thanks mate!!

Took a damn long time lol, but well worth it.
This piece is actually my stepping-stone; I learned alot
doing it.

But hey, your works are super awesome, especially your gases, stars and lighting.
Those are my weaknesses lol

Both cratered planets really help add a sense of scale ( if the craters are that big when compared to the planet, then the planets must be really small ) And I agree Gas giants really improve a space scene, yet so few hardly include them...Maybe because their relativly simple patterns are as easy to create without the need for manipulating pics of Jupiter  But this one is good, I see it as being similar to Neptune.

Yes, gas giants give that feeling of superior authority, and its moons seem to be its tenants or servants. Also, the fierce anticyclones of gas giants gives it a powerful iconic image.

The other thing I love about gas giants is that they are in a way abstract or weird compared to terrestrial worlds. They can have rings in 90 or more degree angles and can be smooth-stormed or chaos-stormed, and the best part of them is their mysteries. No one exactly knows how the surface of a giant is or how the atmosphere looks inside.

Oh so pretty. I still haven't gotten around to doing any space art, even though I have something planned. Weird little creatures seem to get in the way.
