I think the colour, detail and contrast of the gas planet is marvellous, and the backdrop is quite nice too. I think the smaller moons are a little rough in a flat, noisy way though (as if their textures are low resolution). The scene is minimal too - and it works well. But if anything, the gas planet really stands out to me - nicely done. :)

The compositional and lighting elements in this update are far stronger. The gas giant in the original had a pretty washed out atmosphere. I think the atmospheres of your planets could still use more detail, working them up to further the lighting scheme of the piece.

Okay, thanks for the critique! I'm gonna try to incorporate that in the piece I'm doing now.

Thanks alot :)

The smoothness of the large planet is a good contast against those rough-looking moons. Apparently, Jupiter has a ring in the same situation, where it can only be seen when sunlight scatters through it ( kinda like a spider web effect )

Nope, I deleted it. But I'll bring it in if you want to compare.

Yea, I agree. Something got messed up with the psd turning into a jpg and it kinda lightens the stars more than they really are :S

I can't fix it
